Many Christians feel that when they begin to serve God somehow that life will become easier, somehow everything will come together but the reality is is that the devil does not like it when you come to Christ. The devil does not like it when you seek to serve God. The devil would do everything he can to regain the ground he has lost in your life and that is why many Christians get discouraged when they come against fiery trials and obstacles.
We should take courage in knowing that “He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world” 1 John 4:4. The devil knows that the power of the Holy Spirit can break the hold that he has on any soul and he fears Christians that are filled with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit filled Christians can lead millions of people to Christ. The devil knows that the gates of hell can not prevail against the power of the Holy Spirit and he is fearful. Because of this the devil puts up speed bumps, obstacles and all types of distractions in your way. These are just meant to block your efforts. God will help you if you trust completely in Him to win souls for Christ.
When you are attacked …...don't act like something strange is happen don't act like you don't know what is going on. The reality is that the Bible says that those who live godly in Christ must suffer persecution 2 Timothy 3:12.
This is normal in warfare to be attacked. The good news is that The Holy Spirit along with the sword of the Word of God strikes back at the enemy with power. Do not give up do not surrender anything to the enemy. Don't surrender yourself. Don't surrender your family! Don't surrender your neighborhood! Don't surrender your city! Don't surrender your nation! Don't surrender anything to satan because Christ said that he as overcome the world John 16:33. Also Jesus reminds us of the power of his death on the cross when he said “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me”John 12:32.... This is a powerful declaration from our Lord. This is the banner in which we stand, Christ himself and He has prevailed. We must stay connected to God seeking his leadership and power because we know that we can do nothing without him. Persecution should draw us closer to God.
You should have no power without Christ then you will know real power. The only one we must surrender to is God himself!
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong”. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NIV)
