"Just Like Them"

Have you ever read the story of the Israelites coming out of Egypt and wondered why they complained so much? They had a chance to do what people have been trying to do for as long as recorded in history.... Talk directly to God and know that He is with them. They saw their enemies destroyed by their God and all they had to do was move when God said move. God feed them the food of the angels.

Why did they complain so much? There is NO good reason. The truth is that people are ungrateful for the things they get. We feel like we should have more and get more. We complain because we think life should be like an all inclusive resort, all the time. We act as if we are not sinners and it is our right to get all the good things because ... we did not ask to be here. Wow! God in His love for us knows that if we had it easy all the time we would not seek Him.

God let us see the pain of this world so we lose any desire for it. God's goal is to make you Holy. God is more concerned about the joy that you get from knowing Him than the happiness you get from having everything you want.

“There is more to life than owning everything." It is more important that God owns every part of you.
We should spend more time thanking God for all the things He has done. We need to cultivate the attitude of perpetual gratitude. We need to be just like King David when he said in Psalm 34:1
"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth."

Ask God for want you want and need but remember to say (Thank You) when you get it.
