How to lose weight by eating only two meals a day.

two meals

Forget about counting calories or searching for low-fat snacks. Instead, focus on eating nutrient-dense foods that are easily digested and readily used by the body for energy and cleansing. If you are willing to exchange your dusty ideas of dieting for a fresh way of thinking about the foods you eat, then you will be able to rid your body of excess fat and waste. Fresh fruits, raw vegetables, green juices and fiber-rich foods are the key ingredients.

Step 1

Start each day with a glass of lemon water; it’s a great whole body detox. Morning is when your system is cleansing itself of wastes and impurities. Do not make it stop the cleansing process to start digesting a huge breakfast. After your lemon water, when you do begin to feel hungry, do not run for the standard breakfast choices. Opt for fresh fruit juice or a dairy-free protein shake made with coconut or almond milk. Adding a banana can make it last until lunch. If you are still hungry before noon, snack on fruit.

Step 2

Eat raw food for lunch. When you are ready for your first meal of the day, choose a salad, raw veggies or green juice. One of the best things you can do for your body is to increase the number of raw fruits and vegetables you eat. By going raw until supper time, you will increase the nutrients in your diet while decreasing the calories drastically.

Step 3

Choose high-fiber foods for your second meal of the day. Foods that your body recognizes, breaks down and uses immediately are high-fiber foods. Vegetables and fruits are high on the list. Steamed broccoli, baked yams or butternut squash, broiled fish, whole wheat pasta with marinara sauce are all simple foods that your body knows what to do with at a chemical level. Any of these choices, teamed with a fresh salad, are satisfying and healthy end-of-the-day options. Natalia Rose, author of “The Raw Food Detox Diet,” writes: “Forget all the raw, vegan, and vegetarian dogma. Simple foods, whether cooked or raw, in simple combinations, is the fastest, most effective way to cleanse and rejuvenate.”

Step 4

Cut out all processed foods, as well as most meats and dairy products. Stay away from caffeine, white sugars, white flours, artificial sweeteners, fast foods and sodas.

Step 5

Incorporate the “light to heavy” concept each day. Natalia Rose claims you should eat your lightest foods first, like juices, fruits or raw veggies and end the day with cooked foods, meats or grains–the heavier foods. The idea is best applied to meals as well. Always eat your salad before your main course.
